In the vibrant heart of Madurai, the saga of Vikram Multi-Specialty Hospital unfolds—a testament to the visionary leadership and unwavering dedication of its founder, Dr. V. Narayanasamy. Established in 1986 with a modest 15-bedded facility in Annanagar, Madurai, this institution emerged under the stewardship of Dr. Narayanasamy, a general surgeon hailing from an agricultural background. His noble mission: to extend healthcare to the underserved, particularly those in the lower socio-economic strata.

The early days of Vikram Hospital witnessed an unwavering commitment to service, with a team of pioneering physicians collaborating with Dr. Narayanasamy. This esteemed group included Dr. P. Subraman, a distinguished Neurosurgeon, Dr. R. Durairaj, an accomplished Nephrologist, Dr. M. Srinivasan, a Senior cardiologist, and Dr.Padma, a proficient gynecologist. Despite facing resource constraints, their steadfast dedication laid the cornerstone for the hospital’s eventual evolution.

As patient demand and the need for enhanced healthcare services grew, the hospital expanded to a nearby location. Guided by the leadership of Medical Director Dr. N. Veerarajkumar, an eminent neurosurgeon, Vikram Hospital strategically broadened its services to include neuro-trauma, neurosurgery procedures, endo-urology procedures, spine treatments, and mass-focused interventions. This surge in demand paved the way for a grand vision, resulting in the establishment of the state-of-the-art, 175-bedded Vikram Multi-Specialty Hospital in 2012. Positioned near the pivotal Sivangangai ring road junction, this new facility was designed to provide tertiary care services.
